Asmanex itself wont cause cavities. The child should rinse his mouth after use because Asmanex CAN cause overgrowth of Candida (otherwise known as thrush) but this shouldnt affect the teeth. Asmanex can cause dry mouth and throat which this could have possibly contributed to his cavities because saliva helps to wash away acids caused by the breakdown of sugars/carbs on the teeth. Encourage him to rinse well after using the medicine and encourage good oral hygeine. Be sure he brushes well at least twice a day. (you dont say how old he is) If he is younger, observe his technique to be sure he is doing a thorough job. If he is older (adolescent or pre-adolescent) it may help to add a bacteriocidal rinse like Listerine or Scope i.e.
