I bought some Ashwagandha extract 500mg at the vitamin store today because I read it helps people with their anxiety. I have very bad general & social anxiety so I want to try it. I took my first pill about a half hour ago and already I feel a lot more calm. My question is, should I take it twice a day (what is on the bottle)? Since my anxiety is constant I need to make it a part of my daily regimen but I don't know how much, and when? (Day and night?) One more question, can I have coffee in the morning..I don't know if that would make sense to have caffeine but taking a pill to calm me down. Any insight would be appreciated!
I would be on the side of caution. There have not been scientific long term studies done on most medicinal herbs. It is a guessing game on how long you can take it and at what dose. Some have unwanted additives that can cause unpleasant side effects. I am not against herbal medicine, I use them on occasion. Just practice due diligence, not all herbal medicines are safe. I agree, coffee defeats the purpose right now, maybe you can add it later on. Be well take care and hopefully anxiety free :)
