Asacol and lymphocytic colitis - how long do I need to keep taking it. I'm now down to two pills a day. I started taking Asacol for LC August 20, 2009 and it didn't work until November 2, 2009. Happy day! I cut back to four a day this spring of 2010 but it was too early. Went back to six a day and am now cut back to two or three a day (4/6/2011). I'm afraid to just stop but maybe the two a day isn't doing anything so I might be OK. Also a GIST tumor was detected in my stomach at the time of the colonoscopy diagnosis of LC. Guess there is no connection. It was resected 12/2009.
