I'm a newbie to the group, looking to share stories with other women.
My husband and I were clean for twenty years, had built a beautiful home, had two perfect children. I was a stay at home pta mom as my husband worked his ass off the build his career in the union. Finally, after twenty years of working as an electrician in the union and taking every class that he could, he hit the top of his field and became a master electrician and got his class a contractors liscense, he broke his back at work. After he went through horrible back surgery (they operated from the front and then rolled him over, cut his back wide open, inserted a titanium cage attached to his spine with screws) he came home to recover and could not wait to get back to work. He LOVED his job and the union. He appeared to be getting better the first couple of days, but slowly I began to notice that there were these weird spells that began to show up every hour or two. I knew something was terribly wrong because these so called spells when they came one he would literally act stranger than an insane person.Once after dinner the kids and I went upstairs and shortly thereafter we heard my husband down here talking to himself. I came running down stairs and I was horrified when I saw that he had taken the microwave completely apart. I at this time was becoming scared of him but I asked him what he was doing and he told me that he heard someone in the microwave and took it apart to get the person out but he said that whenhe got it opened the person had already gotten away. I snuck upstairs and called 911 to get him help and when they came, by that time he had snapped out of it and was acting normal again. He kept fighting with the EMTs tellling them that nothing was wrong with him. I took the female EMT and showed her the microwave and what he had done. I assumd that he had had a stroke in his sleep after the surgery because they had told me that that was a possibility after the surgery and I had noticed that whenever one of these spells came on one side of his face went limp and he began to drool. I told this to the lady and she said that she didn't think so. She asked me to show her the meds he was on. The surgery was VERY serious so he was on a ton of the strongest meds. I gave her the bottles of oxycontin, dilaudid, percocet, flexeril, and morphine. Her conclusion to thisscary behavior was that his body was rejecting the medication that he must be having an extreme allergic reaction to it. I had no reason to disbelieve her, she was supposed to be the expert. I told her that the kids and I were scared of him this wayand I was afraid to have him here around the kids like that. I never knewwhen the (spells) would come and I didn't know if he would or could hurt one of is while he was acting so scary. They promised me that it was the medicine and promised me that they would admit him to the hospital and that he would be there for about two weeks until all the medicine out of his system. Be right back.
My boyfriend of two year's was hit by a car while on a bike and take's Methadone along with Roxy's.
He developed a bad drug problem... started taking more and more... running out before his next doctor visit and buying them off the street.
I also tried the Methadone and liked it... along with Xanax and other pill's.
We both have blackouts while on Xanax and also fight while on it.
I've noticed with other people who take it also it make's them angry.
Recently he had a bad fight and the cops took him... he had a couple Methadone pills on him along with my Xanax (my doctor started giving it to me) and 1mg of crack.
He doesn't remember any of it... and I believe him because the cops were called and he left the house walking down the street with all those drugs on him knowing he would be caught.
It's been two week's and I'm still withdrawing after taking 10-40 mg of Methadone over the past two year's.
I can't sleep, I'm foggy and depressed.
But this is the last time for me... I'm not going through this again.
He's being bonded out this week and going to his doctor right away I'm sure since he missed his appointment.
I'm a little worried having a bottle of Methadone in the house.
But if I could just sleep it night it wouldn't be an issue.
So I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow.
