I would like to know if there are any latest approaches to treating ocd and depression rather than ssri's or atypical anti depressants, for example combination therapy using olanzapine w/clomipramine.
Are you also working with a therapist? Huge headway has been made in that area. I can suggest some reading and a workbook for you if you would like. The med experts will be along I am sure. My hubby is seeing an excellent therapist who specializes in this field. The books he has written and recommended have helped people break out of the OCD and major anxiety/depression. Meds are only a holding pattern. It is retraining the brain that provides the relief from this. People are getting back into the world. Thought you should know about this exciting development.
Let me know and I will get the list together for you and others.
Hi! Just speaking from my own perspective, I've had the best results with Venlafaxine/Olanzapine/Lamotrigine. Many people report much relief with Abilify added to their other med(s). Viibryd also seems to be gaining popularity. Studies are being done with Provigil/Nuvigil and Ketamine for bipolar depression and MDD. And if you add therapy and support groups the results are even better. Hope this helps some. Best wishes! WC
