I eat only abt 500 cals a day. Took insulin Lantus solostar over three yrs, went off when bs reached more normal. Its gone back up. New dr put me on Januvia. Its suppose to decrease appitite, wich i already have NO appetite. Why would Januvia be preferred over Lantus ?
I have no appitite, what will januvia do to me? I eat 500 cals a day only . have digestion problems?

I have CKD stage 4 , asthma, eosiniophillia, CHF . Dr said my insurance not cover Insulin, but i have two insurances and both cover it. With no appeitite, and the Januvia already suppressing the appeitite, what can i expect to happen if it doesnt empty the stomach . ?
What the heck does he care about your insurance. I've never heard of a dr getting involved on how you pay for your meds unless you bring up the problem. Are you type 1 or type 2 diabetic? That makes a difference. If you are type 1 then the Januvia does nothing. And you need insulin. If you are type 2 it may help. Are you sure he didn't say if you're type 2 you have to try pills before insurance will pay for insulin? What kind of dr are you seeing? I've never heard of someone not needing insulin after needing it for 3 yrs. With your other problems, not without other changes in the life. I would get to an endocrinologist and let him sort it out. He's the expert on diabetes.
