... to NIH for a bone marrow transplant. Is this our next option?Currently on cyclosporine at 400mg a day and has had 2 bags of platlets last week and 2 this week.
I am a 35 yr old female and I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia in November 2012. I also had the ATG treatment (horse derived). So far there has been no outcome from the treatment. My doctor referred me to the Mayo Clinic to consult for a bone marrow transplant. The doctor there said he would like to see me wait 6 months and if nothing comes from the ATG, he wants me to try it a 2nd time. I am also taking cyclosporine, 350 mg per day, have platelet transfusions 1 to 2 times per week and 2 units of blood about every 2 weeks.
