My 7yrold went to the dentist and got it for his teeth and I'm scared to give it to him just don't know how much codeine is in it because it mks him hyper and I really don't like givin it to him.
APAP is an abbreviation meaning acetaminophen. So this liquid contains 120mg of acetaminophen and 12mg of codeine per 5 ml. 5 ml is equal to a standard measuring teaspoon. So each teaspoon has 120mg acetaminophen (or Tylenol) and 12mg of codeine. It is best to use a liquid medicine measuring spoon or syringe-the pharmacist should be able to provide one. DO NOT USE A REGULAR SPOON FROM YOUR FLATWARE SET TO MEASURE! They are not standardized to measure a real teaspoon full. If he can be comfortable with just plain acetaminophen you can try that rather than the acetaminophen and codeine. Sorry you havent gotten an answer sooner!
