My son has been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD and we have just started him on 1mg of intuniv (tonight was the first dosage). I have been extremely hesitant on him taking meds at all but I can't stand the person he is attempting to turn into because of his ODD. My son is an ice hockey player and I was reading the reviews about the dizziness from just getting up too quickly. I have seen nothing mentioned on if kids had to stop playing sports because of this. I don't want him to get hurt because he moves too quickly while on the ice and gets dizzy. Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
So I’m not a child but I take Kapvay, which is super similar to Intuniv. It’s a blood pressure medication so it can lower a normal person’s blood pressure, causing these side effects you fear. But usually people adjust to the medication in a few days. If after a few days he is still complaining of orthostatic hypotension, it night stick around but I really doubt it.
