"Do not give Zoloft to anyone younger than 18 years old without the advice of a doctor. Zoloft is FDA-approved for children with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It is not approved for treating depression in children."
You should be concerned. There is a risk of suicidal ideation and thoughts with young people and antidepressants. I would get a second opinion on giving a child Zoloft. There may be safer ways of helping with the depression, like therapy. I would seek a Pediatric specialist.
