Was prescribed 30 mg Cymbalta for severe fibromyalgia, 30 mg once daily almost immediately stopped my fibro but headache and nausea made it not worth the effort. 2nd attempt 6 months later, I opened the capsules and poured out half the contents again it stopped the severe fibro but headache/nausea after two weeks made me stop taking it. Today I took a whole 30 mg Cymbalta and fibro pain diminished immediately but I intend to take this pill only once a week and see if it will work this way for me. Anyone else had results taking this med this way. My body just cant handle the day to day dosage.
I take 30mg every day but if it helps you ask your dr if its ok I think cymbalta is in a class of drugs that to work right has to be taken everyday. Ive been on it for 1 year now. Prior to it I cried in pain for 3 years before my dr. Said it has to be fibro. It is a stimulant for me so I have to take it in the am with my breakfast. Now that I think of it I may have had headaches and nausea from it. All I know it was life altering for my pain. I will take it for the rest of my life unless I take medical marijuana as soon as I receive my card. Also I have found once a week chiropractor adjustment and medical massause got rid of my headaches. I have nausea a lot with my acid reflex ibs/c so who knows what its from. I just after 4 years got a nausea presc last week from my dr. Haven't used it yet. Fyi zofran did not work for me. New one brand name compazine. Worked for my sister.
I agree with what the previous person advised.
I rake it daily with other meds.
The pharmacist would probably say that it’s not going to work 1 x week.
Talk to your doc.
I think whatever a Fibro sufferer find effective is a blresaing.
Remember,,, it’s your body and you know it best.
taking this med for 10 years from neurological chronic pain and depression. My doc started me at 60mg has work great for MDD , however now, my pain is 50% less, which is still too painful. I have not any bad side effects other than sexual and low appetite. That could also be from aging (72). If study this site under dosage, it states not to open capsule. Check with pharmacy now. Good luck
When taking these kind of medication you need to take it every day. I took it for 8-9 years. It helped me at first; but then the pain kept getting worse. I couldn’t handle the extreme number of horrific side effects so I’ve been tapering off at 10% since late summer 2017. I’m down from 60 mg. to 25 and I feel better than I did when I was taking it. I can’t wait to get my life back and get my body and brain healthy again!
