I take Humira but am also a T1D, wondering if anyone else has had a spike in insulin requirements after starting Humira? None of the docs (endo or GI) believe the spike is due to the Humira but that is the only thing that has changed for me and my blood sugar is usually very controlled.
I just saw your question, hence the delay in my response. I started on Humira in January of 2013. I WAS NOT diabetic at the time. Within 5 months my (middle of the day non-fasting) blood sugar went from 150 to 500! And my A1C was 12.8.
A few months later I had a routine phone call from the Humira customer service and they asked me about changes in blood sugar. I told them my story and they were very concerned and indicated that there were studies on the effect of Humira on Blood Sugar.
So... IMHO. You are not imagining things.
