I have osteoarthritis mainly in my hands and in my knees. I take meds for blood pressure and cholesterol and would like to not have to take any additional prescription meds if I can avoid it. Aspirin helps -- sometimes. Generic Tylenol helps -- sometimes. But sometimes my fingers just ache so much and nothing seems to help. I also tried naproxen and it helps, but also only sometimes.
Hello Micheal. I use Tiger Balm. Its been around forever & honestly it works better to relieve my arthritis pain then any OTC or prescribed NSAID ive ever taken. My grandfather swears by it now as well. The down fall is that its smells heavily of cinnamon & cloves & it will stain light colored clothing. You can find it at any pharmacy chain & it runs up to $7.99 a jar. The jar is small but a little goes a long way. Hope this helps. Take care.
