I have a type of OCD that causes me to be constantly aware of my saliva and am concious of the need to swallow it all the time, I've had it on and off for years. It has been relentless and I've tried so many different therapies over the years with little improvement including some anti-depressants. I haven't been on any medication for the past year as I wanted to try other natural therapies but as I still have no improvement feel I need to try medication again as it is making me very depressed. I have never tried Luvox and would appreciate anyone letting me know if they have had any success with a similar type of OCD. Thank you.
SSRIs and SSNIs can have that side effect. I've tried Luvox, Lexapro, Paxil and am now on 75mg Effexor XR and 450mg WellbutrinXR with 1mg Xanax and .5mg Ativan as needed. Effexor gave me some weird ticks and weight gain that, for the most part, went away after about a month. I fast tapered my Effexor (fun fun) from 150mg to 75mg and boosted my Wellbutrin to 450mg. Very stimulating. The Effexor helps OCD, especially at higher doses if you can get through all the side effects.
