And had any kind of bad or different reaction to it than when they took it years before? I am going to restart taking Paxil after being off of it for almost 3 yrs and really scared. I shouldnt be because it worked well for me in the past, but I have a major fear of medicine and now afraid to take any kind of drug. Please help.
I can say that I was started on Zoloft years ago when I started having panic attacks and it worked wonders. So I took myself off. About a year later the anxiety came back and I restarted it but from my primary, who didn't give me a benzo too so it made my anxiety ten times worse! Had a very bad reaction. So my suggestion is make sure you have something that works for your anxiety right away while your ssri is building up. Because the side effects alone are brutal. If I didn't have klonopin I don't know where I'd be waiting for this Prozac to kick in. You will be fine.
I restarted Paxil over and over again. I had the usually effects as the first 2 times. Except this time I didn't have the severe anxiety. Paxil is a good med. I felt like my old self again. I wish I could take it again. My body got immune to it and stopped working. Now I'm on Trazadone been on it for years. It also helps with my insomnia and pain. I personally think Trazadone is a miracle drug it help everything.
I won't worry about an allergic reaction since you have taken successfully before, but you may experience some of the initial, start up side effects which generally subside over the month it takes to readjust to the med. If it worked for you before, good chance it will again. Don't let fear stand in the way of your good mental health. If you aren't functioning well without, gotta give it a fair try.
