I was diagnosed two years ago and have since lost my insurance. They have not figured out what is causing mine and now with no insurance and no money to self pay, my pain is excruciating! It has now spread all up my legs and into my back. I also believe it may be affecting my digestive system. I am so miserable and depressed and I am at my wits end. Please please if anyone knows of any programs, grants anything I would greatly appreciate it. I live in ohio
Also look for free clinics and women's health clinics. You can be directed there to more resources. Have you applied for disability? And lastly, go to the doc and bite the bulletin. Amassed huge debt. When I got ill. I would have been a fool not to get the medication.closed everything and made it through. No treatment and all that suffering will lead to a very short life.
First of all check into applying for medicaid. If you do not have any income, you should qualify. Look to the teaching hospitals in your area and inquire if they have any programs or low cost or free clinics (teaching hospitals are usually associated with a university). Try googling "low cost healthcare/Ohio" and see what you come up with.
If you have been diagnosed, hopefully you have been written prescriptions. There is a great assistance plan through RxOutreach.com that offers 90 supplies of your meds for very low cost. You can also go directly to the maker of the drug that you are on for assistance. I have Epilepsy and all of my meds are covered by the manufactor of the drug except for one, who I get through RxOutreach. As for your health care, apply for Medicaid or Social Security. Keep all of your documents from when you were diagnosed (you will need them for Social Security) Pain DOES cause severe depression!! If you do apply for Social Security include depression as a reason for applying. This will improve your chances of getting approved greatly. I would also suggest you hire an attorney. They do not cost anything unless you win and only take a portion of your settlement. Best of luck to you!
Have you tried being evaluated by the ss doctors? They totally misdiagnosed me and said I Was So Depressed... I suffered needlessly for years on drugs which not only screwed up my mind but also caused me to have really, really poor vision and caused dental probs. ,tons of things Im the one who studied myself for years each day ( I know me best, right?) I concluded I'd had fm for YEARS and really had work w stress whule having 3 additional pregnancies caused MAJOR cfs!!! I finally got off effexor in Jan. I know it helps many but is really, really bad for someone who doesn't need it. My Point is that if a,social security docture says ; you're blue" I'm pretty SURE they have to take their word. Best of luck keep in touch beca
