I've had all the tests for GERD and they were normal. My Dr. wants me to try Reglan but the side effects scare me. Has anyone had success with this?
What is it supposed to do if you don't have reflux? Reglan can cause tardive dyskinesia. It does not always go away when you stop the med. This is the only side effect I would say you have to think about. I had a cough with occasional vomiting and i finally figured out what was wrong. I was getting strings of mucous from my nose that was tickling my gag reflex. I started using ocean nasal spray when the coughing would start and i seldom have a problem now.
Hello Chronic Cougher - I am an experienced user or Reglan in both the pill form 10 mg and in the liquid form and I have had excellent results and no side effects at all. I have GERD and acid reflux and Barrettes Esophagus all rolled into one and I take Dexilant to keep these symptoms under control however I often am plagued with nausea and vomiting and I often cannot keep my many medications down so that is when I start taking the liquid Reglan and it works like a charm to settle my stomach and my coughing also subsides - I find it most effective when I take it at night before retiring for the night - I suggest that you try the liquid and see how it makes you feel. Good Luck and I do hope it affords you with the relief you need. Angela
