I'm bipolar. I've been going through an excessively long depressive state. My doc wanted to add a new SSNRI, Fetzima. It works great for me. HOWEVER, my insurance won't cover it. I can't take Effexor or Cymbalta--I always look like I just stepped out of a show that I took wearing my clothes. Does anyone use Pristiq? Especially those that can't use Effexor or Cymbalta, but all that use Pristiq, your experiences will help me greatly.
BTW Wellbutrin is the only other antidepressant I don't have side effects from.
I have been on Pristiq for a year or so now. I use to take Effexor for years but it stopped working. My doctor told me it's a more "concentrated version" of Effexor. Works well for me. As far as perspiring, I take a hormone replacement medication which causes hot flashes, so I can't say whether it causes that or not.
I just started taking Fetzima 4 days ago, and I was wondering about its efficacy and how long it takes before it starts working. I hate Cymbalta because it makes me feel like I am on bad speed, and Effexor was ineffective. My doctor ceased my 300mgXL Wellbutrin dose as I am taking Fetzima now. Anyone have any Fetzima successes?
