Has anyone been prescribed Adderall, Vyvanse, Concertta, or other central nervous system stimulants (mainly prescribed for treating ADHD) for treating depression?
They can help with depression as they affect dopamine which is one of the neurotransmitters in the brain that can become imbalanced with depression. One of the few medications that affect dopamine and is specifically prescribed for depression is Wellbutrin. Otherwise, there are the stimulants you mentioned as well as Provigil and Nuvigil.
