... for depression which is way off label so I can't find much about the drug from people who take it. One question I have is about any long term effects. I take 4mg a day. Thank you
I just cant imagine anyone prescribing this for depression! Do you have pain with depression? This medicine is used to treat opioid addiction and rarely for pain. I have never even heard of it used for depression and I cant imagine how it would help unless you have pain as well as depression and your doc is thinking if he helps the pain the depression will get better. I just cant imagine risking ones license in this climate to prescribe bupe for depression. Docs have to take special classes and get special certification to even prescribe bupe.
have to agree with kaismama/DzooBaby... off label it can be prescribed for pain... read on some sites where people said it helped there depression, but this is as the 2 other poster stated has opiate in it/ the doctor has to go to a special class for his/her license... some insurances won't cover it unless it is to get one off of opiates or sometimes they may cover a low dose for pain..but never heard of them covering it for depression... so maybe he is prescribing it for pain... did you have an opiate problem if you don't mind me asking?? for I don't see how he/she would put you on this for depression...
