For fibro pain specifically?
Hi Jupiter27... I've never heard of melatonin having analgesic effects. Where did you get this information? It is made naturally in the body... its what keeps our circadium rhythm in check. Are you having difficulty sleeping due to "fibro" pain? Also, Is that fibromyalgia or POLYMYALGIA RHEUMATICA?
Fibromyalgia is a very hard condition to treat. Getting the good REM sleep is what is the main problem as all us Fibro patients know so well. The melatonin may help if you take it at bedtime to let you get the correct sleep required for the next days pain, but is not a PAIN management tool. You need a good rheumatologist to prescribe something like gabepentin or lyrica or savella which is prescribed (savella) specifically for fibro pain. I will give you the link below. Best of luck to you & stay with us as many of us suffer from this malady...
