Ive heard its good for numerous conditions - Ive been having bad acid reflux and stomach problems for awhile - was wondering if anyone else has tried this and what its worked with for them or if if hasnt worked at all??
I used to work with a Naturopath who swore by Mangosteen juice for a lot of things. It is worth a try and it shouldnt hurt, anyway, if you get a good source. One of the problems with supplements is that they are not regulated like a medication so they may not contain consistent amounts of the beneficial property or it may contain a portion of the herb or fruit that doesnt contain the beneficial property-in mangosteen, it is the rind that carries the Xanthones which are the anti-oxident that is beneficial. Mangosteen is also is a good source of Vitamin C and other Vits. I know he recommended it for joint pain and we did have quite a few with digestive complaints. He tried to get most of his patients on Mangosteen. He also recommended digestive enzymes and probiotics for digestive problems like GERD and indigestion, along with Mangosteen. Xango was the mangosteen juice product he recommended. He had a lot of success stories from using Xango. It is supposed to boost energy, boost the immune system and also help keep the intestinal system and respiratory systems functioning well. This is not necessarily backed up by the FDA but that doesnt always mean anything either! I did feel better energy wise when I was using it but I couldnt really report any grand differences in my pain levels but I didnt use it for very long. Xango is pretty expensive. It did taste pretty good for a juice. And being a juice, it cant really hurt to try it unless you are allergic to it or something. You can look at Xango.com but remember that they are selling the product so keep that in mind. Remember that it is not known, for the most part, if most supplements interact with other medications and such.
