I have taken them all, even Clozapine (Clozaril) and I'm hoping Latuda helps. So far I've seen improvement in my "delusions" and hallucinations. I go from 80 mg to 120 mg tomorrow. My pdoc is hoping that will help as I live in a world of terror bookended by being manic, and depressed. I also take Lamictal, Trazodone, Effexor (though she's thinking of getting rid of that), Prazosin (for nightmares), Buspar, and Seroquel (PRN only). I've been in-patient 17 times in the last decade. I'm praying Latuda does the trick. So far so good. I just want to know if there are more people like me on it.
Hi Artist1980, I have bipolar and have taken Latuda. Unfortunately I was unable to continue it due to my being allergic to something in it. It did help though. I could definitely tell a big difference when I took it. My thinking was markedly clearer, no voices, or excessive "background noise" in my head. I really wish I could've stayed on it, but due to the allergy I could'nt, I hope that helps. Good luck and continue to improve!
I'm bipolar and have been on Latuda almost 2 weeks. I'm no longer depressed but am extremely irritable and fly off the handle easily. Usually I can control myself better but now I can't and no one seems to understand that. It has helped me greatly but I'm beginning to question if it's worth the nervousness, anxiety and irritability it's been causing in me
Thank you, I'm loving it so far but am also concerned about it triggering or causing mania. I noticed higher energy and socialization and restlessness today. I'm hoping that's just the relief and joy of no voices or head noise with good peaceful sleep.
Hello, I started on latuda in November of 14 for paranoid pschoeffective too! I take 80 mg x 2 at bedtime. I was in a lockdown hospital and my Dr talked the hospital into giving it to me, she had been fighting the insurance company for approval. It worked they approved me being on it. I have NOT been back to a hospital since. I don’t have panic attacks or hear voices or have thoughts anymore. I will never stop taking it. The insurance is happy now to pay $2,100 a month and no hospitals now for 3 years..
(Whenever I talk about latuda and what my Dr in California, Dr Holasik, did for me... she gave me my life back, and it makes me cry every time). I have struggled since 1991,trying many Drs, pills and hospitals for years.
Thank you Dr Holasik
I wish everyone on or trying latuda the best of luck and pray for success to gain peace in your mind.
