We've tried many, and none work. There are alternatives that are not classified as pain killers, not sure what you've tried. To me that means opiates. Anyway, hope this helps. Just because they didn't work for me doesn't mean they won't for you. Migraine's are lousy as I'm sure you know, they adapt to whatever you use, we have found variety to be the best option, yet, even with that sometimes nothing seems to work.
Yes, I have been on Petadolex since last August and I had a significant improvement with my migraines and NO side effects at all. Their studies now show that 71% of patients responded to it with at least 50% improvement. Petadolex is butterburr root.
I see that feverfew is mentioned above as did one of my neurologists. My nephrologist said to absolutely not take the herbals because they often have toxins in them because they are not evaluated by the FDA. Another one of my neurologists came up with Petadolex which is manufactured in Germany where the government DOES evaluate all their herbals. So Petadolex is safe and proven to be helpful.
Just because something is "natural" doesn't mean that it's safe, e.g. some mushrooms, hemlock, asbestos, etc. And there's no telling about the manufacturing process.

I've never tried them either, but can relate to migraine's and not wanting to have to take the med's for them. I take Fiorinal, but try to rarely. Only when I get the horrible ones that I can't go away no matter what I try or do. I am on Topamax on a regular basis, however I'm not sure how I feel about it. The very best of luck to you. And Kathy, how are you? I hope life is treating you well. I've been very sick the last week or so, but am feeling a bit better. It feels good to be back online. Take care, and if you need anything... just write to me. Your friend, Ruthie
