Suffering from severe sciatica and failed back syndrome. I've been reading about Piriformis and it appears it can see lie sciatica?
Hi missy girl, sorry no one has answered your question. What type of failed back are we talking here, surgery failed back? The piriformis is a large muscle in you hip that the siactic nerve runs through. It can give you sciatica, but if you have had failed back surgery as I have, then I doubt that is what is going on. Do you have it on one side? Was it back surgery? More info would help too. You may have read the smae article that I did a week or two ago from one of my magazines either Natural Health, or Arthritis Today. They showed exercises for stretching that muscle etc... It can sometimes be pinched, but in my case it was a failed back surgery that has led to many numerous conditions. I didn't have the leg pain until the dummmy operated on me. Been living with it for 44 years. Right leg is even smaller than my left from athropy. You could try to strech the muscle & see if it helps for sure, just don't do anything that may injure you more. Give us more info on your total condition & maybe some more will jump in on this question...
