I was prescribed first the Hydrocodone and then the Gabapentin. I took both together and it seemed to help when taking together,,, Is this dangerous?
I also have fibromyalgia and take both of these medications. The gabapentin was originally prescribed to me for anxiety, but as I took it longer, I was able to cut back of the amount of Vicodin I was taking for pain. The combination works well for me. My pain management doctor frequently prescribes both to her fibro patients. I agree with the previous poster that both medications can cause sleepiness. I take 5- 100 mg capsules of the gabapentin daily. I spread the doses out through the day, taking two at bedtime, which serves the dual purpose of helping me sleep. I don't think i could take more than 100mg at a time during the day and be able to function. i try to limit the vicodin to the evening or nighttime as well. Good luck; I hope you find some relief!
