I have been having severe periods (serious pain, very heavy bleeding, and long lasting). They also are irregular, meaning I may stop for days and then start again with another long, heavy cycle. My doctor gave me Rx for Lysteda but I am afraid to start it after reading the educational info given by the drugstore. I mean, I want relief, but not at the risk of blood clots or strokes or death. I ve been trying to overcome a breast cancer diagnosis and dont want to take a risk of serious harm from this. Any suggestions? Also, I noticed that it said something about not taking if you had a previous endometriosis diagnosis. I did in 1992, but had surgery for it then. Even though it was a different doctor then, I still see someone in the same same group now. That info should be in the records. Should I call and see if he saw that?
Yes, just go to your dr. to be sure. Just want to share: for my case, I am using it for a hormonal imbalance. and i am taking it together with my dydrogesterone. whenever i get heavy bleeding, i take it 3x a day for 3 days. while i continuously take dydrogesterone. on the first day of heavy bleeding (in a particular month), i would count til the 16th day and that's the time i will start taking my dydro until the 25th day, that would be 2x a day. my ob said, try it for 6 months..i hope this works because i can't do the things i was doing before, i work in the kitchen but now i stopped because of heavy bleeding. i hope everything goes well with you..
