I take Effexor 150mg for depression and my doctor said it's been known to help with pain. Not helping with pain at all. I also take tramadol 50mg doesn't help. Next step injections on April 15. Hope it gives me relief. Living in constant pain sucks! Doctors have no compassion at all.
I have a pain doc who prescribed cymbalta for my back and leg pain. It has worked wonders but you have to be careful on this med. It has terrible withdrawal effects if you stop it without weaning off of it. It is something to ask your doctor about. I have been on it since last June and I have had 7 lower back surgeries and I have two neurostimulators placed in my body which I haven't used since. Good luck. Hopefully everyone can find a good pain doc like I have. And the injections work sometimes not always. I've had them too.
