I've started lex for the third time in my life I've never had to up a dosage or down a dosage... lex has worked great for me! but of course starting it all over again always has me nervous on whether or not it will work... my doc gave me klonopin to take as needed... and I noticed the klonopin calms me and makes me feel like myself again... so I was wondering if anyone has taken klonopin until the lex kicked in
If Lexapro had worked that well for you before, there's no reason to worry about. Lex will save the day again, I'm sure. =)
About the generic brand: some people notice a difference, but is not very often. Just make sure that you avoid switch between the two. If you started on the generic, keep that way.
Lexapro and a Klonopin is a very common - and successful - combo on the beginning of the treatment.
I've been on Celexa 40 mg - which is basically an older version of the Lexapro -and also took Klonopin as needed.
Unfortunately the Celexa wasn't doing the trick for me, and I had to switch to Effexor XR. But I'm still on Klonopin - until it kicks in, as you are.
Hope you get well.
I have also taken lexapro multiple times in my life. Each time I restarted, it worked just as well as the last time! I will say, that recently, my psychiatrist upped me to 30mg. I have never taken more than 20 mg, and I have been taking this med for years. The 30 mg really gives me the help I needed with increased anxiety.
I take .5 mg klonopin 3 times a day as needed, and it really helps. I suggest you come off as soon as lexapro starts to help, as klonopin is very addictive.
