I have had this burning mouth since September 2013. I have not gotten too much into the treatment yet but I was prescribed Magic Mouthwash and I already take klonopin for my anxiety. Thank you for any information that you can give me and I'm really glad I found this support group.
I have had BMS for about 10 agonizing months now. It took four dentists/doctors plus me to figure it out. I just found out that I have a hiatal hernia and I can't help but think that the two are related somehow. I have also had severe hair loss over the last six months which I feel somehow is inter-related. I was prescribed multiple medications for my BMS and TMJ including Robaxin, Elavil, and Lodine. I'm not taking the Robaxin and Lodine anymore. The Lodine may have been causing some serious stomach pain because of the long-term use. The Elavil is supposed to help with my anxiety, but I'm always super stressed. I'm the mom of three children of huge age differences, run a business with my husband (as if the kids weren't stress enough), and am always on some Board or another. I'm trying to say no, but I'm just not that gal.
I take 10,000 units of Biotin a day, and I'm still looking like I need some serious hair help. I'm wondering if we have any other similarities besides the BMS which completely sucks. I have been tested for a thyroid disorder in the past, but haven't checked recently to see if there's an issue. Have you checked that possibility out?
Feel free to respond back or if anyone else out there has a similar situation, it would be great to compare notes. I'm looking into the possibility of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), but I'm concerned over stomach irritation with my hiatal hernia. I have also seen ALA, hot pepper sauce, and Milk of Magnesia as a course of remedies to help with the BMS.
I too have been experiencing hair loss, but I do not think it is from the bms, as I have had it off and on again for many years. It is just within the last couple of months, while on a new drug, fluoxatine, which I am soon going to stop taking. Do any of you have suggestions for what to take or use to prevent hair loss in women and/or to make new hair grow back? Arlene
also , is there really a mouthwash called magic mouthwash? Do they sell it at drugstores?
Hi! I am 37 years old. I have lost so much hair. I have realized when I took a bath and whenI brush my hair. I thought for a moment it happened because of stress or because I have a long hair. Reading all your comments I am thinking that may be is because BMS. I hope someone can find a cure for this. Thanks to God for all your comments. It helps to me sooo much! I don' feel lonely.
