I was curious as to whether anyone else had been prescribed both gabapentin and Lyrica simultaneously and if so what was the max prescribed dose. How effective were these in conjunction versus independently?
While I do not have experience taking gabapentin (used to treat nerve pain, restless leg syndrome and seizures) or Lyrica (used to treat seizures, nerve pain and fibromyalgia) I am aware of a potential drug interaction.
Central nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating may be additive when these medications are taken at the same time.
Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination.
If you have any concerns talk with your doctor.
