Find a female cardiologist. women react quite differently then men to routine tests. In fact a report was released yesterday about the thousands of women who have been mislead by tests created for men. Do you have tenderness to touch in this area? It can be a place that can have signifificant pain from the two muscles that cross in this area. if you do that massage and icepak to this area can help with relief.do you have indigestion? prilosec over the counter or zegerid can help if there is referred pain from inc stomache acid , common if you smoke.check your Bp. does the pain increase when you take a deep breath- then it may indeed be respiratory related. in other wards there are many reasons for pain in this area. Be assertive with your doctor. This is not something to cover with pain pills. As women we have to push to have our needs met and appropriate diagnosis made, Good luck and I hope this helps to give you a few things to consider as possibilities.
