I used to wake up refreshed after taking ambien. Now when I wake up I am very groggy for 2 or 3 hours. I have been taking ambien for 5 years now.
Hello sarahahoyle. The two do/may differ. You might ask your pharmacist for another generic. There are several generics on the market. Most pharmacy(ies) do purchase generics and given the cost, plays a factor in the generic that the pharmacy will have on hand. Best of wishes along with good health in the up coming new year. Ambien worked great for me as well. Then I was given a generic, which was a round pill. This pill not only did not work well at all for sleep I felt terrible when I woke up. I asked my pharmacist about it. She asked the shape of the pill. When I told her it was round, she had me bring it back and traded out with a same shape pill (generic) as the ambien pill. It does work better than the round pill. Not as good as the real thing. I am totally convinced that the generics are many times not even close to the same as a name brand. The same generic will be given for many different name brand like drugs. How can it be the same? Anyway, hope this helps. If you are taking a round pill have them change it out for the smaller oval shaped one. (there is a white one and a kinda peach colored one, I can't tell much difference between those two but they do work for sleep).
