I have taken Paxil, Prestiq, Effexor, Lithium, Gabapentin and Anafranil. None of them worked for my anxiety or depression. All of them made me gain weight and all of them made me tired. Last, they all really decrease libido. Tramadol has no side effects. I just do not understand the taboo of using Tramadol for anxiety or depression. When anxiety and depression are life long conditions to be dealt with, what exactly is the problem with using Tramadol long term ?
Does anyone know any doctor in Canada who will prescribe Tramadol for anxiety or depression ?

The reason is that Tramadol is indicated for pain relief only. No Doctor will prescribe an addictive painkiller for anxiety or depression. Even if they were inclined to help you out, it would involve him/her breaking the law and potentially risking their license to practice medicine.
There maybe good reasons too. I was just looking at one of the medications I had to stop as long term use was contra-indicated due to non-reversible side effects after long term use.
I'd recommend trying an older style anti-depressant/anti-anxiety like Clomipramine HCl. To start with it makes you tired so you just take it sometime in the evening or 30 minutes before bed. You might be surprised. :-)
Ask your Doctor about that; I'm sure you will get a better response..
