My feet have lost alot of feeling with mild pain, but my hands and wrists burn really bad and ache most of the time. I am on gabapentin and doxepin for the pain and burning. It helps considerably, but my primary care physician says she's never heard of a pre diabetic having peripheral neuropathy and I am trying to find out how I can stop the progression. My neurologist insists it is from uncontrolled blood sugars. I do have high blood sugars and am trying to control them with my diet.
Has anyone been diagnosed with diabetic peripheral neuropathy and only has pre diabetes?
