I feel my quality of life isn't so good im on symbicort ventollin periodically prednisone for 5 days at a time once a month when I have bad flare ups and I just got on theophylline I'm struggling with the fact I can't breathe most days and my sleeping pattern is terrible from coughing so much I just don't know where else to turn im also not sure if my job is effecting the asthma either I'm a cement truck driver any input on that would be appreciated thank you
For one your job is definitely affecting your asthma. Any possible way that you can change jobs? Probably not huh? When i was younger I had asthma and became depressed because of it. I was still in school and constantly worrying about what other kids thought of me. I wasn't picked on but was embarrassed of having to used my inhalers. I believe that's when I first started having anxiety. I think you should definitely talk to your doctor. Tell him/her what you've said here if you haven't already. With the right medication and breathing exercises you should find relief. You shouldn't have to deal with once a month flare ups. Oh try to elevate you pillow at night for easier breathing.
