i have a friend who has a 10yr old son is on concerta 27mg and has been showing signs of sexually behaviour toward our kids and i want to know if that is normal or do they have something to worry about.
No, it is not the concerta. When kids this age start acting out sexual types of things to other children, it can often point to signs of sexual abuse. These parents need to do some investingating about who is coming around their child and it could very well be an older child like a teen or it could be an adult. A similar situation like this happened to my son. He came to me one evening and told me that his cousin had told him about something. My son was about 6 or 7 and his cousin was 9 or 10 years old. My son said his cousin told him about oral sex and how it felt good and wanted to perform this act on our son. My husband and I tried telling my brother and sister-in-law about this incident because we were worried. I knew this was too young for kids to have a great deal of knowledge about but my in laws would have none of it and said "boys will be boys" type of thing. We then forbid our son to hang out with his cousin alone or to hang out with any of his cousin's friends unless they were under our direct supervision. We soon moved away after this occasion. Well, about a year later it came out that our nephew was being sexually abused by an older child who was in his early teens who lived in the neighborhood. So our instincts were correct! If only my in laws would have listened when we said something, it could have meant a years less abuse that our nephew sustained. I would have a talk with the childs parents but dont be surprised if they refuse to believe it but hopefully they will be smart about it and start investigating what is going on. Keep your children away from this child unless the kids are under your direct supervision where you can intervene and tell this child that behaviors like this are inappropriate and not allowed in your home. Perhaps this will set the child to go to his parents about this inappropriate behavior being done to him! This is a sad situation! Good Luck!
