Celexa is used in the treatment of anxiety and stress; depression; postpartum depression and belongs to the drug class selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors.

A common side effect is insomnia.

I suggest you inform your Dr.-

hello Crocugrove
Speaking to someone who has tried multiple ssri's med's not all cause insomnia..are u saying the celexa don't work at all for your condition or that u don't like the side effect that u can't sleep? Also how long have u been taking this do no that you have to give at least a month or so to reach it's therapeutic levels... and in that time maybe the insomnia may or may not go away but will help with your issues..your doc can always put an add on for insomnia if the med helps with the other issues... good luck and talk to your doc about your concerns...

Hi, Celexa isn't a medication used to treat insomnia. It is an antidepressant. It is prescribed for this and other similar diagnoses. It sometimes can cause insomnia, and if you feel you aren't benefiting from taking this medication, please have a discussion with your doctor... free discount card
