I have moderate COPD. I mainly have the cough and mucus. My breathing seems fine. Have taken a lot of different inhalers, their side effects are horrible except my rescue inhaler ! Has anyone taken Breo?
Has anyone taken Breo Ellipta 100/25 (fluticasone 100mcg and vilanterol 25mcg inhalation powder)?

It is equivalent in strength and effect to taking ADVAIR 250/50 in an inhaled powered handihaler.. This dose was a jolter for me when I was diagnosed as Moderate COPD. The side effects are horrible with all the inhalers that are long term Beta Agonists ( LABA ) with ( steroids ). I went down to
ADVAIR 100/50 when I was moderate and it was sufficient. I stayed away from Breo Ellipta ( too strong for moderate COPD ) It does not have a lower dose. If MUCUS is one of the problems you can alleviate that by taking NAC ( N-Acetyl Cysteine ) 900 milligram on an empty stomach once a day. It liquifies mucus and it works well, much better than Mucinex which doctors prescribe for mucus. "PURE" is the brand name for NAC. 120 capsules for 35.00. Hospitals use this as a life saving therapy for many simply solved ailments. I am now at SEVERE to worsening COPD. Breo Ellipta is STRONG. If you are Moderate COPD stay away from this one. Doctors I found out mostly overprescribe/ overdose to cover their doubts. Doctors that are cautionary and listen well are few and rare. Treasure them. Write to me if you want to continue an open dialogue about anything. I am 80 years old and have had COPD since 1990. Keep asking the smart and wise questions that you do. It will serve you well.
