Yes. Given you were on methyldopa and now having come off the anxiety has appeared, and that methyldopa is sedating in nature and you were a long-term user, the body's natural response to it's sudden absence is by far the most likely suspect in what causes your anxiety. It'll pass, so to avoid more withdrawal concerns down the line, don't let the doctor prescribe you Librium, Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan, or Tranxene.
