My dosage instructions are 50 to 100 mg of Trazodone. It was working just fine until 2 months ago. Then, my Doctor instructed me to wean off the trazodone and start amitriptyline (which is supposed to help migraines and sleep) I tried that and I still have insomnia. So I have been taking Trazodone and amitriptyline at the same time and I only get maybe 3 to 5 hours of sleep IF these meds work. I'm at my wit's end. My other doctor tolde to get off the amitriptyline. Maybe I need to get off the trazodone instead! I don't KNOW what the answer is. Should I get off both meds? Thank you.
Hi, simkitkat! This may sound like a silly question but since these medications are being prescribed off label for their side effects has a doctor ever tried you on a sleep aid like Ambien or Lunesta?
