I have been on the forum discussing Prozac. Last nite a friend suggested I try acupuncture. I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and did it work? Thaks in advance for any response I may get. I am so desperate ...
I have heard that acupuncture works wonders for some people suffering from anxiety and depression. I went to an acupuncturist for 2 months-twice a week and felt no relief. My insurance did not cover it either and it got to be very expensive. But if I were you I would go and ask the acupuncturist what you should expect and what would be the time frame that you should start feeling some relief.
I tried acupuncture but it didn't help. My chi is blocked in the solar plexus. I, like you, tried every depression med out there and they did next to nothing. My depressions went away when they wanted to go away and I would just cringe when another was starting! What finally did help was TMS -Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. Google it - MRI technology, approved by the FDA. Expensive, but you may find it cheaper at a large teaching hospital or if you enter a clinical trial. It's worth a try to find a way to afford it. On the NeuroStar website (the manufacturer) it lists providers by location. Hope you get some relief soon. - EJ23
I did it for a month, and it didn't help. Some people feel it really makes a difference, I guess each person has different results. There couldn't be any harm in trying it for 2-3 weeks and seeing how it works for you... I've also done meditation, that helped some.
