Is it better to take the extended version of the Lamictal/ does that keep you up at night? It was energizing in the regular formula. I know the Lamictal has to be halved because it stays in the blood stream longer with the Divalproex Sodium. jThanks for your input.
Anybody out there take Divalproex Sodium and Lamictal with decent results?

The ER was better than without the extended release for me. Now I am on Lamitcal and Geodon. This is a good combination for me. Lamtical eliminated my hallunciations and Geodon helps with my mood problems. I take 100mg of Lamitcal and 80mg of geodon. Have you had any weight gain? I have had weight gain from psychiatric meds and I would like to get off of the meds soon. I have never been on both Lamitcal and Depakote at the same time. Ultimately, I switched off of Depakote because it was affecting my liver. Beaware the doctor may do frequent blood tests while taking Depakote due to the effects of the drug on the liver. Let me know how everything works out

Thanks for responding. Did you say that you are taking the Lamictal ER and it doesn't give you insomnia? The weight gain is ridiculous on the Depakote & the Seroquel. Hard to tell which is the culprit because they can both be awful on the metabolic system. It's hard to know what's going on with these.
Too much Lamictal can make you dopey, so be careful. How often did you have the blood test & how much of the depakote were you taking? It's been 2 months already. The trick is to find the right one/ones and not become a victim in the process.
