i had quite a few open knee surgeries and became addicted to pain killers... first roxicodone... then oxicontin... then they lovely fentanyl patches along with the roxi's... i confessed to my doc that i took between 30 and 40 pills a day... obviously couldn't keep up with that habit... so he put me on 4 8 mg pills of the subutex... day one was hell... but 20 hours later wd's are gone... woke up this morning sore as hell with a lack of energy... just wondering... anyone else ever been on this high of a dose at first... this is day three for me...
Any one else been prescribed 32 mg of subutex a day?

I have not been on that much but it is not uncommon to be prescribed at least 16 mgs for less than 10 lortabs or percocets per day. Unfortunately I think you will see that others are put on as high a dose as well. At least he had the good sense to put you on subutex at first and if you can, stay on that instead of suboxone. The subs products will coat the receptor sites and last for some people 3 to 5 days, depending on how damaged the sites in the brain are and how well the sites are coated. If you want to come down off of some of that, of course clear this with you doctor, he may not want you to, but you probably actually can. You have to be not craving and comfortable in order to taper, if you are craving, then don't even think about it. I hope you feel a bit better today. Pattishan
I have taken pain killers and tried to get off them many ways... starting with 3-4 subutex a day for about a week to ten days, then you can have your dr put you on suboxone 8mg/2mg its a bilingual pill also is the best way to transition smoothly. and you should start out on the suboxone 3-4 daily and decressing the dosage by like a half a pill each week until your eventually free of all the meds... but the dose u said to start is pretty normal u wouldnt want less believe me youd be sick as dog; good luck to ya..
yea,you came to the right place. well, just about everyone here was on too much of a good thing.funny, how we think we are
unique or special for building up a large tolerance to opiates.all that means is you came to the right place.there are some really great people who will go outta there way to help.all that being said are you ready to get better? that is why i came here and i hope that's why you did too.i was started on 20mg in a split dose 10mg,am&10mg,pm. now im at 24mg,-8mg 3x a day.i traded morphine for suboxone cause it lasts longer and doesn't make me sloppy, and a whole lot more things i wont get intoright now.so what do you say, wana be friends?
u shud stay away from all sugary and soda drinks as it contain huge amount of carbohydrates and strach u shud only consume natural sweet sugars like fruit juice only but dark chocolates which contain only 2 to 3% sugar u can take but not more than one all carbohydrates are gud till u work out and burn then but the day u start taking them without burning will result in unbalance and unfrequent weight gain which will never leave ur body easily and continue to wrap ur body with fat every time u consume so sugar is very harful u shud consume natural sugars which we find in organic fruits
