Any long term side effects from taking the drug toprol?

Toprol contains metoprolol and belongs to a group of drugs called beta blockers.
Beta blockers have been used very successfully for many years to treat high blood pressure, angina, and heart attacks etc.
All medicines have side-effects but not every one experiences them and they are impossible to predict.
Side-effects are more likely to occur at higher doses or when used for long periods of time.
