I have been on MS Contin for 3 years for failed fusion and DDD. My prescription plan is taking MS off the formulary; are there any other medications that work as well at taking your head out of the pain? I've already been on Oxycontin for 5 years, couldn't continue to pay for it after the patent was reinstated. Any suggestions are appreciated
Is your insurance giving you any other "long-acting" moderate to severe pain meds to choose from? That's terrible. I am a victim of the healthcare system right now and no longer have insurance. I've been taking Oxycontin for over a year now and have to switch back to MS Contin to be able to afford it. Do they provide the short-acting? At least until your doctor and you can come up with a plan. Fentanyl is very strong but maybe the patch would be helpful (depending on the dose you are currently taking). There has to be something out there. Good luck and let us know!
