... nothing is?
I have a severe anxiety disorder and I am prescribed 2mg of xanax 4 times a day. For the past 6 months, I have been having chest pains again. I have been to the ER only to be told that I was not having a heart attack. I saw a cardiologist and he ran all of the normal heart tests and found nothing wrong with my heart. I am coming off of the xanax tomorrow as it appears to no longer be working and interfering with my current pain medication. I would not suggest benzodiazapams for your anxiety. It is torture to come off of them. I have to be hospitilized to come off of the xanax. They expect me to be there for about 2 weeks. There are other medications that you can use. I would check with your psychiatrist or find a psychiatrist. It is trial and error with medications. Good luck.
I too suffer from anxiety, I start to get heart palpitation, which freaks me out. I went to er and the same , nothing showed up, just high blood pressure when anxious. I have been doing meditation and deep breathing when stressed which helps and calms me down. Hope this helps.
I also have suffered from Anxiety to such an extent that I thought I was having a heart attack... I wasn't. I am now taking Inderal 20 mg in the am, 20 mg mid-afternoon and 20 mg at night. This has pretty much taken care of the anxiety. If I get an attack then I also have Visteral to take that relieves it in a half hour or so, much better than the xanax I was on without the side effects. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.
