In my opinion you have nothing to worry about. I have taken every SSRI there is and I have never had a side effect from them. The only thing that will give you a panic attack is being scared to take it. Why do you think doctors prescribe SSRI's so much? Because it is non-addictive and they know that it is safe for most individuals. Don't sweat it. Once you take it you will realize that you were scared for no reason. Trust me.
I was on Zoloft for 10 yrs and it was good - no problems - but I understand your anxiety on starting it. I'm like that too with new meds. One thing that helps me is to start them at half the dose prescribed for the first three days to make sure you dont have any reactions to it. I hope you do well on it!
