Been on citalopram for around 25 days. Went from 20 to 30 after two weeks. Anxiety and insomnia has gotten worse. Anxiety has lessened a bit but it is still running my life. I do feel a little better but, still I only can focus on my anxiety. Will this ever go away? About how long does it take?
Thanks for your input. I do know the cause of my anxiety and I have been working on it. I used to be on paxil and it helped a lot. However, it just stopped working after 12 years. The problem is walking up with anxiety and a racing heart. Just hoping that particular side effect will eventually go away.
! was on this for about 2years and have quite a few friends on citalopram for some it works other nothing take it from me i've been tryin for something since 1965!!! and i mean that, not much confidence in our mental welfare system sorry to sound so pessimistic but i do like to tell it as it is.
This is day 29. I woke up this morning feeling great. I actually feel happiness. Zero anxiety. I also caught myself thinking of my future and not dwelling on my past. That is huge for me! I guess this is the right medicine for me after all.I really thought that I would be stuck with anxiety and depression for the rest of my life. The side effects were horrible and I was truly ready to give up on it. I was certain that this was the wrong med for me. I am so glad that I waited and pushed through. Thanks to everyone for their comments on this topic and I hope that it helps someone else that is going through the bad side effects.
