... times a day as needed, and I've needed them 3 times a day but my next appt was scheduled 34 days apart, I've almost ran out what should I do?"
You'll need to talk to the doctor and explain that you have taken them 3 times a day and thus they only lasted you 15 days rather than the 34 days. Hopefully, he will understand and be willing to prescribe more. It can be dangerous going from taking this medication to not taking without tapering off. The doctor should know this so give the office a call and explain what has happened.
The only thing you can do is call the drs office and explain. Unfortunately docs sometimes don't count on you needing it every day. If they gave you enough for that they would have to give you 90 pills. I was once refused a refill because even tho I took the med as ordered, I wasn't supposed to use it daily, when I argued I did that, I needed it every day, I was told I had to wait for a refill because I took too much, by the pharmacist. Really ticked me off and I never used that pharmacy again. You doc needs to get on your side on this one.

I was prescribed .5mg of Xanax to take as needed. Is taking a pill and a half three times a day bad?
